Storm explodes in 5th

Storm scored a couple in the top of the first inning. Duran tripled, Rene and Bob doubled, and that would be the offence for the day. Defensively Storm started with a BOBble as Bob acclimatised himself to shortstop. It didn’t matter as Storm managed to shut the door and not give up any runs. The A’s returned the favour in the second as Storm was blanked. The A’s would get one and it was 2-1 after two innings. It looked like Storm was headed for yet another tight defensive game.

Duran got the offence going again in the third with a legitimate inside the park home run. There were no errors, though no outfielder seemed in any hurry to pick up the ball. Lance and Bob got hits and Storm got another pair of runs. The A’s were able to match that pair of runs it and it 4-3 after three.

Sam PilKey led off the 4th with a strikeout. He took full possession of the team lead in strikeouts. Brian hit a double and Duran and Mills hit to score two more to take a 6-3 lead. In the 5th, the floodgates opened and Storm rained down runs on the A’s. Storm strung together 9 hits for 9 runs. The A’s never recovered and Storm won15-4.
