Storm has Power Surge

Storm had a power surge against Surge Monday night. They only batted in four innings and all four innings ended with the mercy rule being applied. Surge never retired Storm on outs (and in two innings never recorded an out).

The first inning saw a pair of two run homers by Joey and Lance which paved the way for the six runs. Storm managed the mercy with no homers to play with in the second. They kept the ball in the park and scored six. In the third inning, not only did the inning not end on outs, there wasn’t a single out recorded. Storm scored six runs on nine consecutive singles.

In the top of the 4th, Surge had a power surge of their own. This backfired as they gave Storm home runs back to use, and Craig used one launching a three run blast. Five singles later and Storm had another six run mercy without recording an out.

Surge decided to call it quits after the top of the fifth. Actually, they seemed to have called it quits in the top of the fifth as the leadoff batter didn’t run out a ball that squeaked through the infield and he was thrown out anyway. But when the inning ended, they lined it up.

Cycle Watch:

Even with all the offence, nobody had a chance because nobody batted more than three times and some players only batted twice.
