The Storm had a fairly good day on Sunday, We won our first game against the Devils 14 to 9, but the same thing that plagued us all year was back in full force in the Semifinal game against Xtreme. NO Hitting, as a result we lost the game 5 to 1.
Let's hope that next year we have more consistent hitting through out the year.

Day 2 of Playoff's complete.... Day 3 will happen
It was a low scoring affair but thanks to some stellar D from all but espeacially Bob who made the hightlight of the year when he dove to his left and grabbed a sure hit off the bat of Chris from the Rebels. Two 2 run Homeruns from Al sure helped as well. Make the final 6 - 5 Storm
We had a 10 run lead but could not hold off the Falcons, and in the bottom of the seventh they hit a grand slam to win the game 13 to 11.

Storm Win Season's last game....Finish 8th
Dave could do very little wrong in the 21 to 14 victory over Xtreme Contracting, he belted out 3 homeruns, could have had a triple and came close to driving out another HR. Bob did his best to try and keep up smacking out two of his own HR's. This was a good way to finish a less than stellar year. However if the stars are aligned just right, this could be our year to win it all. He's to a good playoff run.

Storm shut-out Mayhem
With Hurricane Irene off to the east of us, a strong wind was blowing in all game and kept this game honest, Bob gave it a try in the third but had no luck, the wind knocked his ball down well short of the right field fence. Good defense by both teams kept this game very close. The Storm manufactured a few runs on some timely hitting and good base running. Make the final 4 - 0.

August Record Falls to 1-6
Another Statement Game for the Falcons
depleted lineup hit the field for the Storm, including a one-armed Danny coming off of the DL to give us 8 players. After questionable field conditions moved the game to K2, the Falcons rescinded their offer to catch for us when an early-arriving member of the A's jogged out join our outfield corps.
With only 3 outfielders the Falcons had no trouble getting hits. Although their 14-run 3rd inning wasn't quite good enough to match the 15-run inning Greenthumb got against us a few games ago. The Falcons also managed 6 HRs in the game, and were swinging for more. But after their 3rd home run with a 20+ run lead, we decided to call it a night. Final score 22-0.

No Bat's again last night
The Storm played a pretty good game last night considering it was a very short bench with many walking wounded playing to avoid the forfeit. The bat's went silent for many players as we only had one inning with more than two hits in it. Defence was OK, however a few costly miscue's again bit us in the behind again. The Storm had a chance as they were only 2 runs down after 6 innings. But Direct scored 3 in the top of the seventh, and The Storm could not answer, make the final 10 to 5 for Direct Elevator.

Back to our old ways....
Giving the opponents 4 or more outs an inning is a bad recipe for a victory. Therefore Xtreme took full advantage of our sloppy defense scoring 7 unearned runs in the second inning on way to a 17 to 10 victory. The only good news for the Storm was a grand slam by AL and a triple turned into double by Colin.

Storm Bats keep rolling
The Storm had another good night at the plate scoring 17 runs. The big story of the day was made when the new team rep listening to his overeager rookie about wasting a courtesy runner, on an already competent courtesy runner. Well this move back fired as the Storm ran out of Courtesy runners with Colin on first base(Not a good thing, fortunately it doesn't happen that much). Cause of course Colin's base running gets Fred caught in a run down for the last out of the game, with who else but "Jeff & Bob" coming up to bat on a night that already see's Bob hit for the cycle. Hopefully the lessons has been learned, if not tonight's lineup should send a good message who is really running this team. Oh by the way the final was 17 to 8 for the Storm.

Yet Another 1 Run Loss
This was Brad's game to forget, it was almost an exact duplicate of the previous game. Except this time it was Brad's turn to have a tuff game in the field. Which helped the Devils get 6 of their 12 runs in one inning. We tried to make this close as the Storm scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. However a scoreless 7th means that we lost another one run game, our third one this year. Final 12 - 11.

Back and fourth affair ends with a tie
If only I played a better game this would have been a Storm much needed victory, however a couple of deep shots over my head in right centre in the 7th inning proved very costly as Coulas came back from a three run deficit to take a two run lead, fortunately the bottom of the Storm line-up was able to tie it up at 9 in the bottom half of the seventh inning. Two bad I flied out with the bases loaded to end the game in a 9 - 9 draw.

Greenthumb win it in a walkoff
The Storm had chances, and gave Greenthumb chances, unfortunately Greenthumb took advantage of there chances better than the Storm. In the top of sixth the Storm took the lead, but in the bottom of the seventh the bases full and two out, Todd cranks a belt to deep right field that hit the base of the wall. Final score Greenthumb 12, Storm 11

Storm answer back and tie Direct Elevator
It took a 7th inning comeback, but we finally reached double digits in the scorebook again. Good thing too because the Storm almost blew this one. The Storm had a commanding 8 to 1 lead then the basts fell silent and Direct Elevator kept chipping their way back and finally taking a two run lead in the bottom of the sixth. But some clutch hitting from the heart of the Storm order the deficit was erased. In the end it was a 10 to 10 draw.

A Win in only 47min's
In what might have been the quickest Slo-pitch game ever played, the Storm beat Hanet 6 to 3 in only 47 minutes. The Storm Defense had a great night, and although the Storm offense only had 13 hits, 4 were home runs (only 2 counted as such) and three were doubles. Let's hope that the bats come back to play shortly, as you will not win many games scoring only 6 runs.
Also... Thanks to Danny and Mike for a fun party, it appeared everyone had a great time, and the extra time because of the short game made it that much more enjoyable.

No Hits......means another loss
Having only nine hits in a slopitch game will not win you many games, and thus the Storm earned their 5th loss of the season scoring only 5 runs on 9 spread-out hits. Al did his best to make this game close with a HR in the top of the 7th to tie it, but then nothing. The Storm could not hold Xtreme off the board for a fourth srtaight inning and they got their winning run in the bottom of the 7th. We could not take advantage of the five walks we received either. Hopefully the bats show up for the next game against Hanet. Final Score Xtreme 6 - Storm 5.
Don't forget Pool Party at Danny's place after Sunday's game.

Bat's go silent against Greenthumb
Storm Squeeze out victory in the bottom of the 7th
In a game that had the Storm down 6 nothing after a half inning, we were lucky to stay in this game. Mayhem had their own up's and downs, with one of those ups being a mammoth HR to deep deep centre field( Cleared the light pole in Centre field). Good news for the Storm was a missed play by Mayhem in the 7th that allowed us to score the winning run. We'll take it, god knows we give enough of those away. Make the final 12 - 11.

Not the Start we expected
The game started great for the Storm with 5 quick runs in the first followed by 3 more in the 3rd inning, but that was the end of the offence for the Storm. Coulas kept chipping away at the lead, and had a 5 run inning of there own in the 6th. End result is a disappointing loss on our home opener. Make the Final Coulas 11, Storm 8.

Storm season ready to go
It's been a long off season for many of the out of shape Storm members, Joey you know who I'm talking about. But the good news is our new Team Rep drafted very well this year and it looks like we picked up a new shortstop Jeff, which will really help out our infield, as we could not find a third baseman that could hit first base with a throw. Looks like Brad will be put out to pasture with the rest of us old guys. Infield will be Mike O/Dave at first, Bob at 2B, Jeff at SS and Joey our anchor at 3B. With all our ace pitchers and catchers returning this year those positions remain unchanged, the outfield remains the same as well. Looks like it will be another good season for the Storm. First game is in one week, and we have one practice left before the fun begins. Hope to see everyone out on Thursday night at 7pm
