Storm playoff and season wrap

 Storm played well for most of the playoffs. The team was fairly consistently good defensively and got some timely hitting and big homeruns. Unfortunately, it seems as though Storm ran out of steam in the championship game, but that is baseball. Any team can win on any given day, and Bradley certainly deserved it. The playoff run was good. 4-1 is nothing to sneeze at. In the playoff run, Storm made it to 40 wins, which makes them the first team to achieve that. Final record: Storm vs. Bradley 2-2. Storm vs. the rest of WMSPL 38-1.

Bradley breaks Storm hearts

 Sequels are usually worse than the original, and this screenplay from Bradley Chance was even more gratuitous than the first. Featuring more Bradley homeruns, more Bradley hits, and more Storm errors, this was simply hard to watch. The only thing there was less of was Storm offense. Bradley clearly was the better team in this game, and Storm will have to settle for regular season champions and playoff finalists.

Storm stifles rebellion

 In the semi-final match Storm played a textbook game. There was solid hitting up and down the lineup, and the defense was solid. There were numerous good plays in the infield and outfield, and Storm was able to come out on top and reach the finals.

Storm defeats Devils

Storm played a solid game on Sunday morning. They hit well, and played solid defense. Considering the previous two years Storm’s season ended in the quarters, it was nice to get beyond that stage and defeat the returning playoff champions. 

Storm Squeaks Past Greenthumb

The Storm winds were blowing early. Storm put up 6 in the first and 5 in the 2nd, and continued to roll on to a 20-4 lead. However, Greenthumb was not going to go quietly into the mid-afternoon, and they stormed back with a huge sixth inning bringing the score to 21-16. Storm was unable to score in the top of the 7th, and Greenthumb managed to put five more across before Lance made a great catch on the warning track with runners on. Lance then took the momentum from the great catch to the plate, and hit a two-run walk-off homer. With the victory, Storm finishes first in Pool A, and will play in the quarterfinals Sunday @ 10:00 A.M.
