This game was a stark contrast to game one
of the doubleheader. Whereas the first game was a slugfest, game two featured strong
pitching and defense on both teams. The Devils were using a new pitcher, but
after a leadoff walk, he seemed to settle in, and held the Storm bats to a
single-digit score.
It was a close game, with the score 4-3 at
one point. Lance hit a homer that put the Storm up early, and with the score
5-3, Joey hit a two run, opposite field blast. The Devils countered with a two
run shot that brought them back within two, but James put the game out of reach
with another two run shot. The Devils were unable to put anything together in
the bottom of the seventh as the Storm held on to a 9-5 victory.
