Falcon's come back and tie Storm

The Storm started off the game with a whimper, only managing 3 runs over the first 5 frames.  The Falcons played good defence while the bats for Storm ran ice cold.

It took until the 6th inning for the bats to come alive.  Thanks to timely homeruns by Bob and James.  A huge 8 run inning followed by a 5 run inning put Storm up 16-12 going into the bottom of the last frame.

Falcons came roaring back and with two outs and 1 on Ash put it out to tie the game.  Storm would hold and one of the more exciting games of the year ends in a draw.

Storm over Greenthumb

The bats stayed hot for Storm on an even hotter night.

Greenthumb led off the game with 2 runs and Storm answered with 4 and then 4 more in the second inning.  Greenthumb came roaring back with a 6 run frame to even the game up at 8 runs a piece.

James proved why he's the master of the skies with a bomb to left field and Joey added a homer of his own to put Storm out in front.

Greenthumb played very well and brought their hitting shoes but just couldn't catch up with Storm in the later innings.

A+

Even though the A's had 3 outfielders they managed to stifle the bats of the Storm early on.  They held a 3-0 lead going into the bottom of the fourth inning.

Good defense on either side of the ball kept it tight, with Lance making some great plays on the hot corner and Mike and Joey relaying a throw to gun a runner out at home.

Storm started the bats going in the fourth inning with 4 runs, and 4 more in the next frame.  They broke it open in the 6th inning with 12 runs highlighted by Bob and Joey going deep.  Greg was the only one who hit well the whole game with 5 hits.

Storm over Rebels

The game started off strong for Storm, with Bob getting on base and Duran smacking a 2 run shot over center field.  The bats quieted down after that as the Rebels were able to put the next 6 batters down in a row.  Scoring opened back up in the 3rd inning and Storm managed to score every inning after that, highlighted by James and his mammoth blast to left.

The defence for Storm played very well (Who needs Joey?) and Al pitched a fantastic game.

The losing streak for Storm ends and hopefully a winning one will now begin.

Storm gets B+ vs. A's

The A's started the game with a remarkable first inning. It seemed like every ball they hit was just out of reach or into a gap somewhere. They managed a remarkable 13 runs in the first inning. That’s more than Storm has given up in some of its games this year.

After that Storm recovered, and scored seven unanswered runs in the next three inning to cut the lead down to four and then actually tied the game in the top of the fifth. However, the As responded with 7 in the bottom half of the fifth to go back up. Storm allowed the A's to increase the lead in the bottom of the sixth and entered the seventh down nine. They put up a valiant effort, scoring five and drawing to within three, but couldn’t complete the comeback. However, had Storm scored the number of runs to tie the game the inning likely would have reverted before they had retired the A's anyway.

Lance hit two home runs, Dave knocked one out, and Jeff hit a homer in his last at bat, which means he now has as many home runs that count as home runs that were outs this year.
