Leave The Calculators At Home: Storm Out-Slugs Greenthumb In Seven-Inning Softball Circus

The Storm offense didn't just show up; they practically brought their own launch pads. We racked up a staggering 26 hits over seven innings. Leading the absolute demolition derby at the plate was Rene, who turned in a flawless 4-for-4 performance. Rene apparently decided that running the bases was optional, casually launching a home run and a double while crossing home plate four times himself. Not to be outdone, Joey also went a perfect 4-for-4, proving that our lineup had absolutely zero chill from top to bottom.
It wasn't all smooth sailing, though. Every time the Storm built a comfortable cushion—like dropping a casual six-spot in the second inning—Greenthumb’s hitters refused to stay buried. They countered with a five-run second and a terrifying five-run sixth that gave our dugout some collective heart palpitations. Luckily, Mills crushed a crucial triple to keep the line moving, and Jeff  played the role of the ultimate annoying baserunner, reaching safely all four times he stepped up.
By the time the dust settled in the seventh, the scoreboard looked like a football score, our arms were sore, and Greenthumb was left wondering what kind of weather system just hit them. A messy defensive night? Sure. A pitcher's nightmare? Absolutely. But a win is a win, and this Storm offense is officially a category 5 problem for the rest of the league.
Game Summary
  • The Storm's Strategy: Extreme consistency. They scored multiple runs in four separate innings, using massive 4-run and 6-run frames to stay ahead.
  • Greenthumb's Resistance: They never quit. Despite falling behind early, they matched the Storm's late 4-run surge with a 5-run explosion of their own in the 6th to keep it close.
  • The Decider: The 4th inning. The Storm tacked on 3 insurance runs while Greenthumb went scoreless. This created the exact 5-run cushion that decided the game

Perfect Storm: Inglorious Batters Zapped in 5-Inning Lightning Shortened game

Storm faced off against the Inglorious Batters and the Inglorious Batters lived up to their name. Rene had found a new delivery and it worked so well Jeff got an off day as Rene carved up the Inglorious Batters’ lineup. It started with a three up three down inning and the Batters would only score three runs across the first five frames. There was a solo home run, but other than that Rene had their number (along with some pretty solid defense from the Storm).

The Storm didn’t have the same issues batting. They only managed one in the first and a pair in the second, but they brought the thunder in the third and put up a six spot. They added four in the fifth to take a commanding 13-3 lead.

The sixth inning saw some thunder and lightning, and not in the metaphorical sense. Distant rolls of thunder could be heard and the sky kept lighting up and the umpire declared that it wasn’t “worth it” to continue.
