After a tepid first two innings at the plate where
Storm managed to score only one run in each inning, and some lacklustre
defense, Storm trailed 7-2 going into the bottom of the 3rd. In the
bottom of the 3rd, however, there was a power surge, as Joey hit a
3-run home run, and Lance hit a 2-run homer.
The power surge continued in the 4th as Storm plated another
5, with Joey hitting a2-run homer over the trees.
Storm’s defense calmed down and Storm carried a 12-9
lead into the bottom of the 6th. The first two batters got out, and
then Brad got, what seemed like a harmless enough 2-out single; however, Storm
was about to have another power surge, and strung together 13 consecutive 2-out
hits to score 12 runs in the inning. Kevin was saved the ignominious honour of
being the first and third out in the inning when Surge’s left fielder kindly
dropped a line drive, and Mike avoided the incredibly rare opportunity to be
the 2nd and 3rd out in the inning by hitting a single.
Storm was able to hold on to the lead to win 24-11.
Notable stats:
Joey – 2HR, 7 RBI, 3 runs
Lance – HR, 2 RBI, 3 Runs
Bob- 4/4, 4 Runs
