Storm rain's on the Brew Crew

A storm was brewing in the distance as the night sky got darker, but a storm was also brewing at the plate as Storm stormed from behind to defeat Brew Crew 29-11.

It was a little bit of a rocky start for Storm as Brew Crew was allowed to string together a number of hits and nine runs in the 2nd inning. Storm did not panic, however, and played some solid defense while the bats chipped away in the 3rd and 4th to take a 13-11 lead. Then, in the 5th the Storm hit. Storm poured out 16 runs on 19 hits to take a 29-11 lead and held Brew Crew scoreless in the final inning.

Of special note is Duran’s very selfless game. After hitting an in the park grand slam (totally legitimate, no errors) and a single and triple, he came to bat in the 5th a double short of the cycle. Duran hit a ball to the fence, and after making it to second safely, with the bench shouting stay at second (so he could have a cycle), he kept going to third. Then, on the subsequent ground ball to 3rd, he came off far enough to distract the 3rd baseman, allowing Joey to make it to first.

Hopefully Storm can keep the momentum going on Friday night, and that the actual storms will stay away from the diamond for the weekend!

Notable Stats:
4 hits - Lance, Al, Kevin, Duran, and Jeff
HR's: Joey (13), Duran (An inside the park grand slam)(4)
RBI's: Duran 8 RBI, Kevin 4 RBI
