Storm down Triple Play

Again, with both staff writers off enjoying life in Florida and their cottage, I will be addressing the highlights and lowlights of the nightcap against Triple Play.

Both teams started strong, with the Storm scoring max 6 thanks to a Rene 3 run moon shot, which might be the hardest/longest Hr of the year as it was just under the lights in right field and still going up. I think it took Rene 5 minutes to find the ball as I believe he had to go for a swim in one of the backyards to retrieve it. Triple Play scored 5 runs of their own in the bottom of the inning to keep it close.

Second inning was very quick, as four batters managed one hit, but the highlight was a lowlight and a very rare occurrence, the Mighty Joey had struck out. Triple play scored 3 and took a 2 run lead into the 3rd. Fortunately Storm bats came back to life with 8 hits, and they plated the max 6 runs, while holding Triple Play to 1 run and taking the lead again by three runs after 3 innings. The 4th an 5th innings were uneventful, as Storm was able to increase the lead by a couple more runs. The 6th inning Storm plated 9 batters and scored 5 runs thanks to in part to Bob's squeaker of a sole homerun, that just cleared the Right Centre field fence. Triple Play got 4 runs back to make it 23-17 going into the 7th inning.

In the 7th, Storm bats again came to life as all 10 guys made it to plate, unfortunately they used all the time up and nothing counted as the score revered back.
