Storm didn’t feel much like batting in the bottom of the 1st,
and didn’t score a run. The A’s learned in the 2nd inning, and
didn’t hit any home run outs, but only scored two runs. Storm then realized
that hitting is more fun than getting out, and started the inning with eight
consecutive runners reaching base including a massive three-run bomb by Duran.
This mean that Jeff was turning the ball over to the more experienced pitchers
with Storm in the lead.
The lead didn’t last long, however, as the A’s put up five runs in the
top of the 3rd including a 3-run blast by Lui, his second of the game to take a
9-6 lead. Storm wasn’t at all shaken by that and put up five of their own in
the bottom of the 3rd with a massive home run by Joey.
Mike blanked the A’s in the top of the fourth and Storm was able to
extend their lead with three more runs in the bottom of the 4th
capped off by a two-run shot by Lance. In the 5th ,the A’s brought
the score to within two, but Storm put the game out of reach with a 6th
run 6th.
It was an impressive day by both teams. Both teams hit well, and both
teams played solid defense. Greg made a great catch bringing back his famous
trademarked roll.
