Broadway scores early hits, Storm pours on runs late

Whether it was fatigue setting in from all the running back and forth between the pitcher’s rubber and home plate, the pain from pulling something in his stomach (can you pull fat?), or just his occasional tendency to turn into batting practice Thomas, it is unclear, but one thing that is clear, is that Broadway was hitting Jeff like it was batting practice in the first couple of innings. Broadway scored six in the first without recording an out, and then scored three and loaded the bases in the second inning, still without recording an out. Then came the TSN turning point. Brian fielded a ground ball and stepped on first and looked to throw home. Broadway’s runner, for some reason, had not broken for home right away even though the bases were loaded and he would be in a foot race with the pitcher to cover. Brian then jogged in and the runner was caught in a rundown and was eventually recorded out. Storm would shut the door and the game completely turned.

In the bottom half of the inning, Storm scored six and all of a sudden it was a 9-7 game. No longer a runaway. Broadway extended their lead to 14-7, in the 4th. Duran hit another solo home run to kickstart a four run fourth to bring Storm to within three. Broadway extended their lead to six, with three runs in the fifth.

In the bottom of the fifth, Storm opened the floodgates and poured on eight runs on singles, doubles, and a triple by Joey to take their first lead of the game. In the top of the sixth, Broadway tied it up, but then Storm scored five runs  on more singles and a triple by Duran, and ran the clock. With two minutes left and five runs to score, Broadway decided it was time for the curtain to close on the game. The sequel arrives Sunday night.
