Oh for Two...

Storm suffers loss to Broadway’s hit parade

The good news for Storm was that they scored more runs in the second game than they had in the first game. The bad news for Storm was that Broadway scored more runs than them, so they lost for the second time in one night.

It looked like Storm had gotten over whatever had plagued their beleaguered bats in the first game of the doubleheader. Storm scored the max six in the first inning. This was good, because Broadway had scored four in the top of the inning. Storm led 6-4.

That lead wouldn’t last long as Storm would forget how to hit for the next three innings scoring a grand total of 0 across those three frames. Broadway put up 2 in the third and then scored five in the fourth to take hold of the game.

Storm closed the gap to two runs after scoring three each in the 5th and the 6th. This two run differential is interesting, because two runs were scored on a hit down the line that was called fair, but the umpire later admitted was foul.

Broadway then scored a pile of runs in the top of the 7th. So many runs that the game ended and the score reverted to the previous inning, meaning that Storm lost by two runs for the second game of the night.
